Berber Carpeting - Still a Popular Flooring Choice

With the popularity of Berber carpeting in the 1980's, you would think the style has slowed down. Actually, it hasn't dropped off very much. The big loop look is still very appealing to many consumers and we literally sell Berber everyday at BecklersCarpet.com.
If you're considering Berber Carpet, you will need to decide a few things.
- Do you want a solid or flecked/mixed color? The flecked is great for hiding soils.
- Can you afford to buy a Nylon/Olefin blend or all Nylon product. These two types will far outperform a traditional Olefin yarn on wear, crushing, and stain resistance,
- Do you know a very experienced installer? A good installer is very important when it come to Berber Carpeting. Seam are critical. If a poor seam is made, then loops could become frayed later on.
BecklersCarpet.com, 1-800-232-5537, has been stocking and selling Berber Carpet from many years. If you think you might be interested in looking at it for your next home project or rental property, give us a call and we will be glad to send you out a few samples to get you started! We sell all major brands as well as some of other brands that can give you a great bang for your buck.
Of course, if you live in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Birmingham, Huntsville, Knoxville or Nashville, consider a short trip to see us at our showroom in Dalton! We are open throughout the week until 6pm Eastern and even on Saturdays til 4pm. We hope to see or hear from you soon!
I'll be posting more flooring information later this week on using carpet tiles to create your own rug kit as promoted by major tile manufacturers, like Flor.

Bamboo Flooring - Looking for a Dealer?

- Carbonized versus Non Carbonized - Non-Carbonized has a very light and natural look. If you want a "sweeter" more honey toned color you might want to consider a carbonized Bamboo. One side effect to note is that the process to Carbonize Bamboo softens the surface of the wood by about 10% so it will be slightly more susceptible to denting and scratching.
- Horizontal, Vertical, and Strand Woven - Horizontal and Vertical are basically the same structure but have a different grain look. Horizontal boards will have a joint spot sometimes called a "knuckle." Some consumers like this look. For those that don't, you need to look at a Vertical board design with a more traditional wood grain effect. Strand Woven Bamboo is a high end product that may cost you more than a exotic hardwood species. The bamboo for this product is sometimes harvested a little later than others and is also treated in the processing differently. By this change, it is a harder more dense wood like product. It is an excellent product but will be a significant investment versus regular horizontal or vertical boards. Also, the Strand Woven Bamboo has a slightly darker color like Carbonized boards but without the sacrifice of a softer surface.
- Engineered versus Solid - The jury seems out on this choice. Engineered can be installed over a concrete floor, whereas solid cannot. However, some schools of thought think solid Bamboo flooring is better because it may be a more hard, dense product and can give more years of refinishing. You can't go wrong with either, however if you want a more traditional style and a better chance to add value, go with solid (in hardwood flooring solid will usually add more value than engineered because it will typically have a much longer life span due to the many refinishes the floor can have).
If you're thinking about installing a Bamboo floor give us a call at BecklersCarpet.com in Dalton, GA. We will be more than glad to discuss your needs and ship you FREE samples! Of course, if you live in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Huntsville, Birmingham, Knoxville or Nashville, we would love for you to visit us! Call us @ 1-800-232-5537 for a great deal on Bamboo!

Asian Walnut Hardwood Flooring

Our great news just keeps coming! We have been evaluating an Asian Walnut Hardwood Flooring line and our proud to announce it's a new addition to our extensive exotic hardwood floor offering! This hardwood product is one of the most beautiful species I have personally ever seen. This is a floor that you would be not only excited about having for the beauty but it will also be a conversation piece when guests visit your home! (By the way, the picture does NOT do this flooring justice! If you're interested in this be sure to call us at BecklersCarpet.com and ask us to send you a FREE sample, 1-800-626-6936) This is a 1st quality, SELECT grade floor with a 25 year finish warranty (compare that to any other hardwood warranty and you'll understand why I mention it). The boards are 3/4" thick, and 3 & 5/8" wide. This product is a nail down install. We are selling this amazing floor for just $4.29/per foot! The closest priced competitor I could find on this sells at $4.69. This is an awesome product and even better value! If you have a high end home or want your home to look high end this is the real deal.
Asian Walnut Hardwood come from Asia and is a relative newcomer to the American market. It is provides a very rich and smooth grain and is extremely unique and classy looking. It's hardness rates around 2400 on the Janka scale so it has a hardness similar to our Brazilian Cherry and is slightly harder than Tigerwood. The Asian Walnut tree does not grow very tall so typical boards run no longer than 4 feet which is another feature that gives this hardwood species a very comfortable look.
Our Asian Walnut Hardwood floor is available in a natural (pictured above),cinnamon and also a toffee stain. You do not have to buy an entire pallet to get the $4.29/per sq foot price. Furthermore, we do not charge hidden fees like a "less than pallet up charge" or pallet break fee like some others. It's simply the price per foot using standard cartons and shipping (we ship all over the country). However, if you live in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Huntsville, Birmingham, Knoxville or Nashville and want to pick up your hardwood flooring, that's great too. It's just a short drive to Dalton, GA from those cities. We encourage you to call us, 1-800-232-5537 for samples, directions, a formal quote including shipping or more information.
Please keep us in mind for all of your floorcovering needs including Carpet, Hardwood, Laminate, Luxury Vinyl Plank and Tile Flooring, Traditional Vinyl, Carpet Tiles, Ceramic Tile, Area Rugs, and Kids Classroom rugs!

- Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Flooring gives an amazing warm feeling to a room's decor and design. The Cherry color is beloved by professional decorators and homeowners. The added unique grain of the Brazilian wood gives a combination of comfort and formal at the same time.
- Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Floors are also one of the hardest wood species. The hardness of Brazilian Cherry makes it a very long lasting floor and can be refinished multiple times over it's lifespan compared to other prefinished oak hardwood flooring.
